Reflecting on 2025 and a Ministry Update for 2026

As I reflect on this past year, the first thing that must be said is thank you. Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, your involvement, and your financial support of this ministry. None of what we do happens in isolation, and your faithfulness has been both a help and a comfort to me and our ministry here at SGBF.

A Year in Review

Over the past year, in our verse-by-verse studies, we completed Philippians, 1 Thessalonians, and began working through Romans. On Sundays, we also addressed many topics, including the ministry of the Holy Spirit, the remnant of Israel, an extensive series on dispensationalism, forgiveness both judicially before God and in our relationships, and a biblical understanding of evangelism, among others. However, this ministry is about much more than meeting twice a week to study the Bible.

Beyond our meetings, we wrote articles, created and distributed gospel tracts, attended the Grace Ambassadors seminar, maintained and expanded our website, answered numerous Bible questions via email, and grew our YouTube ministry to include verse-by-verse Bible study recordings in addition to written outlines.

The resources above are all free for you and available at: https://www.sufficientgracebiblefellowship.com/

Our Purpose as Christians and as the Church

It is important to remember that the Lord did not command us to write articles, print tracts, host websites, post recordings, or attend seminars. These are tools and a means to an end to try and obey God's will.

God’s will is clear: that all men be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth (1Ti 2:4). In this present dispensation, God is making known the mystery of Christ, forming one Body in Christ by the gospel of grace, and displaying His manifold wisdom through the church (Eph 3:1-10).

As a church, we are called to be the pillar and ground of the truth, holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience (1Ti 3:9, 15-16). We labor to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus, grounded and settled in the truth of God's glorious grace (Col 1:21-29; Tit 1:9).

On an individual level, we are to reckon the old man dead, know that we are alive unto God in Christ, walk worthy in love, and grow in sound doctrine. Transformation does not come through emotion or fleshly effort, but through believing God’s word. We must know it, believe it, pray about it, and meditate upon it in order to be transformed from the inside out (Rom 6:11-19; 12:1-2; Eph 4:17-24; 4:1-3; 5:1-4).

Our requirement is faithfulness: to steward the mysteries of God, to minister reconciliation through the gospel of grace, and to walk in truth and love doing His will wherever we find ourselves (1Co 4:1-4; 2Co 5:14-20).

Looking Ahead: A Ministry Update for 2026

Lastly, I want to share a personal and ministry update. My wife and I will be moving to Parrish, Florida, about thirty minutes north of where we currently live in Bradenton. While still part of the Bradenton metro area, we are excited to put down family and ministerial roots where we plan to be long-term.

As we transition to this new location, we will be looking to rent a meeting space in that area. This will be possible, in part, because of the generosity of those who support the ministry. Your gifts help cover ministry expenses, provide free books and Bibles, and maintain the website and supporting software that quietly hold all these pieces together. As a reminder, no members of this assembly personally profit from or take any salary from any charitable contributions in order not to hinder the gospel of Christ (1Co 9:12).

Thank you again for your prayers, encouragement, emails, and support. It goes much further than you realize and is a genuine comfort to both my wife and me, as well as to the ministry as a whole.

We look forward to and are grateful for the opportunity to labor for the Lord in 2026: faithfully, sincerely, and grounded in His word.
